Maps
We have maps of many different kinds covering the whole of Derbyshire. They are a wonderful source of information about the county and how it has changed over time.
We have Ordnance Survey maps of all scales. The oldest are the first edition one inch to the mile maps of the 1840s. More detailed 6 inch and 25 inch to the mile maps start in the 1880s and continue to current mapping produced from digital data.
We have whole county coverage of the 6 inch and 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps 1880, 1898, 1914 on microfilm and from the 1960s onward as paper maps.
We also have geological, archaeological, agricultural land classification, and administrative maps. There are also many historical county maps ranging from Christopher Saxton's map of Derbyshire dated 1577 to the latest shopping centre surveys.
