County Hall collection

The Local Studies Library is housed in the historic Smedley's Hydro Building in Matlock. It is Derbyshire's main local and family history library.

Our collection of over 27,000 printed books, pamphlets and magazines covers the whole county. We also keep some material about surrounding counties. As well as books we also keep many resources on microfilm, microfiche, video, cassette tapes, audio CDs and CD ROM.
