Journals relating to family history are kept at the Derbyshire Local Studies Library.  A selection of titles are shown below.

General interest 

We have a selection of popular magazines including Ancestors, Family Tree Magazine and Family Historian. Others include Family History, Family History News and Digest and Practical Family History. 

Local family history societies   

We keep complete sets of the Chesterfield and District Family History Society newsletter and the Derbyshire Family History Society News. 

Local history societies 

We have a range of journals by local societies including Bakewell, Great Longstone, Heanor, New Mills and Parwich.   

One name societies 

We collect magazines about common local surnames including Allsop, Bunting, Maskrey and Nadin. 

Topics   

We have special interest magazines such as Catholic Ancestor, The Rowsley Association for former railway employees and company magazines for big local firms like the Stanton and Staveley News. We also collect a number of parish magazines.
