The Infotrac newspapers and journals (opens in a new window) website provides access to 12 national newspapers from 1985 to date, 50 journals and periodicals covering subjects from astronomy and computing right through to geography and science. For a complete list of journals please see the list at the bottom of the page.
Also The Times digital archive from 1785-1985 and a fascinating collection of 19th century British newspapers.
It includes the Derby Mercury, the county's most important newspaper for the period.
To access this site:
- click on the link
- enter the letters DCC in capitals and then your library card number immediately after into the box labelled 'Borrower ID'
- click 'Proceed'.
