Library renewals and loan periods

Information about the loan periods of library items and how you may renew your items in person, by phone or on the internet.

How long can I keep items?  

  • Books and audio books are normally issued for 21 days.
  • New DVD feature films (yellow spot) are normally issued for three nights. DVD box sets and all other DVDs (orange, green, blue and red spots) are issued for one week.
  • CDs are normally issued for one week.

Can I renew items?  

Yes, you can renew items online, or you can contact Call Derbyshire 08 456 058 058 or visit your local library.

The items will only be renewed if no-one else is waiting for them. 

Overdue charges will apply for items renewed late and will apply immediately.
