Car Park Shipley

There are two main car parks available in Shipley Country Park:


  • Coppiceside Car Park - next to the visitor centre

  • Mapperley Reservoir Car Park (access via Mapperley Village only)

Both have ample parking with spaces for blue badge holders.

There is another car park for blue badge holders only on Shipley Hill hall site. (Open 9.30am to 4.30pm in the summer and 9.30am to 3.45pm in the winter). Access is from Marlpool, Heanor only.

Pay and Display Parking charges (from 25 July 2011)

Cars/motorcycles:

  • Up to two hours - £1
  • Up to four hours - £2
  • All day - £3

Lorries/coaches:

  • Up to two hours - £2.50
  • Up to four hours - £4
  • All day - £6

Parking for blue badge holders is free of charge in all three car parks − but you must display your blue badge permit.

Penalty parking (discounted by 50 per cent if paid within 14 days):

  • £50 (lower level)
  • £70 (higher level)

Charge times

Car parking charges only apply during the following times:

  • April to October: 8am to 8pm

  • November to March: 9am to 5pm

Parking permits

12 month season tickets are available for purchase during normal opening hours.

Cars/motorcycles: £50.00

Lorries/coaches: £100.00

Notes

  1. 12 month season tickets cover every chargeable Derbyshire County Council Countryside car park (i.e. Black Rocks, Cromford Wharf, Elvaston Castle Country Park, Grin Low, Hayfield, Lea Bridge (High Peak Junction), Middleton Top, Shipley Country Park − Coppiceside and Mapperley Reservoir car parks).

  2. Season tickets can also be purchased at: Elvaston Castle Country Park, Middleton Top Countryside Centre and Hayfield Countryside Centre

Horse boxes

Parking for horse boxes is available at the car park next to the visitor centre.

There are excellent facilities for horse riding at Shipley County Park.
