MaintenanceWe aim to maintain the Public Rights of Way network in a safe condition. It is not always possible to attend to every request for maintenance, however, we will advise you of our decision following an inspection.
We are responsible for the maintenance to the surface of the majority of rights of way in Derbyshire, including the National Park area (there are a few that are maintained by the landowner).
Our annual programme includes the strimming of paths, re-surfacing and drainage.
We are not responsible for the maintenance of gates and stiles on public paths. This is the responsibility of the landowner, however, we do have a duty to follow up complaints about gates and stiles in disrepair.
Follow this link to read more information about stiles and gates.
If you would like to report a path in disrepair or an overgrown path please use our online report form or Call Derbyshire on 08 456 058 058.
