The Phoenix Greenways
The Phoenix Greenways are great for walking, cycling and horse riding!
The greenways are a network of easy access off-road trails and quiet lanes. Once old railways and collieries, the trails are rising like a Phoenix from the ashes of industry.
Using the Phoenix Greenways you can explore some of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire's most beautiful landscapes. With great attractions in the surrounding area you can spend the day, a weekend or even a week.
While you are here, why not try our new audio trail. Using smart phone technology, look for the symbols by the trail and download fascinating snippets about the trails history and today's countryside.
There are many places to join the trails network, and these all have car parking:
- Tibshelf Ponds, on the Five Pits Trail
- Hardwick Hall and Park (opens in a new window) (parking charges apply)
Some also have horse box parking − see the Phoenix Greenways map in the related documents.
