About us

Here you can find out about the work we do in Derbyshire's countryside.

We manage and look after Derbyshire's countryside with a series of area teams, which are organised into three areas: North, South and West.

Each area is the responsibility of an area manager who works with a team of rangers, countryside wardens, information staff and others, to manage sites and deliver our services across the area.

These area teams work with a centrally based team of specialist employees who provide support and guidance.

The headquarters team consists of countryside managers, Public Rights of Way officers, woodland officers, funding officers and assistant countryside officers.

Our information staff are always happy to answer your 'countryside' related questions and provide you with information and advice that will make your visit a more enjoyable one.

They are based at our countryside centres.

The countryside strategy, which can be found below under more information, will tell you more about our role and what we do.
