Temporary exhibitions

Justine Nettleton - When Trees Dream, They Dream in Colour

A busy programme of temporary exhibitions takes place throughout the year in our three temporary exhibition galleries.

A half yearly programme leaflet is available from the museum, your local Derbyshire library or tourist information centre, or you can download it from the related documents section.

Most artists hold previews for their exhibitions and you are invited to join them. You can also join the mailing list for invitations.

Artists usually sell their work - providing you with an excellent opportunity to buy contemporary pictures, sculpture and craft.

Please go to the current exhibition programme to view information about current and forthcoming exhibitions.

How to apply for an exhibition

We welcome applications from all artists, whether emerging or well-established, to show their work in our galleries. Please see our leaflet in related documents for more information on how we select exhibitions and how to apply.

We plan our exhibition programme a year in advance so our main exhibition spaces are currently booked up until the end of 2012. However, there are occasional possibilities for hosting smaller and/or community exhibitions outside the main programme.

Contact Martha Lawrence, Assistant Museums Manager, with any enquiries related to exhibitions by email at martha.lawrence@derbyshire.gov.uk or by telephone on 01629 533543.

Join our mailing list

You can join our mailing list to be kept informed about the many events, exhibitions and workshops which we host throughout the year.
