Andrew Cavendish, 11th Duke of Devonshire by Stephen Conroy

After a successful run at Chatsworth, this exhibition celebrating the life of the 11th Duke, Andrew Cavendish, comes to Buxton.

It explores the Duke’s love of art, politics, racing, books and gardening, his family life, war time experience and public life in Derbyshire spanning more than 60 years.

From paintings by Gwen John and Duncan Grant to a flywhisk given by President Kenyatta, the exhibition displays many rarely seen photographs, memorabilia and important works of art.

Workshops to explore your own family stories will be run alongside this exhibition – contact us for more details.
