Grants

We have two grant schemes for the arts - community arts grants and small arts grants. Artists Marketing grants are funded by the Arts Partnership.

Derbyshire Designer Maker Marketing grants are available to support marketing activities which will sustain the business and help it to grow.

Community arts grants are awarded annually to participatory arts organisations in Derbyshire. The groups receiving grants in 2008/09 are:

  • Buxton Festival
  • Derbyshire Arts Development Group
  • Firebird Trust
  • First Movement
  • Fleet Arts
  • High Peak Community Arts
  • Junction Arts
  • Learning Through Arts
  • Orchestras Live
  • People Express
  • Third Piper
Small arts grants are awarded three times a year to any organisation developing arts work in Derbyshire. They can provide funding of up to £1,000 for projects which fit into one or more of these priorities: 
  • developing new audiences and participants in arts activity
  • supporting arts work with disabled people
  • supporting arts work in rural areas
  • supporting the creative economy.                 

The following are NOT eligible: 

  • individuals
  • organisations which already receive funding from Derbyshire County Council
  • any work in schools which is in school time or supports the curriculum
  • organisations which have already received a small arts grant                 

Applications will be considered by councillors in June, October and January. Deadlines are Monday 19 May 2008 for consideration in June; Monday 8 September 2008 for consideration in October and Monday 1 December 2008 for consideration in January 2009.
