artsderbyshire website

artsderbyshire is a new website that helps publicise and highlight all the arts events, venues, artists and arts clubs and societies throughout Derbyshire and Derby City.

The artsderbyshire website is a free resource for the public to use to find out more about the arts in the county, and will also act as a place for information and support to people working, or wanting to work in the arts and creative sector.

The new artsderbyshire website features individual artists, arts organisations, arts events and arts venues. Artists in the county can use the site to find more information about opportunities for training, access to funding, venues, and to sign up for a newsletter tailored to the needs of arts practitioners.

The website also provides schedules of forthcoming events which can be searched by location, date or type of event. Access to the artsderbyshire website is free, and is fully searchable on the internet. It has been designed to develop the creative economy in Derbyshire, and to provide guidance in areas such as:

  • how to find out about performances, festivals and other arts events
  • how to develop an artistic business
  • sources of funding in the arts
  • how to get involved in volunteering in the arts.

The website has been designed to be accessible to the entire community of web users, see the related links section.

artsderbyshire is already proving useful to match up artists with events organisers. Helen Amoako organises the Eco Schools conference, and she has used artsderbyshire to identify potential artists to participate in her event.

Helen comments: "I was trying to find artists to lead recycled art workshops at our Eco Schools conference. I had a look at the artsderbyshire website; it’s a really useful resource. I found a number of possible artists on there and emailed them directly."

artsderbyshire is funded and managed by Derbyshire Arts Partnership
