Literature Festival
Derbyshire Literature Festival 1-14 June 2008.
Many thanks to everyone who attended and supported this year’s events. The Festival featured over 70 events including author talks, workshops, walks, and trails.
As part of the Festival we invited people to enter our ‘mini-mobile library saga’ writing competition.
The competition was very successful with over 100 entries received from all over the country.
The idea of the Mobile Library as a setting for a mini-saga really captured people’s imaginations and inspired them to put pen to paper. Romance and crime were the most popular topics for stories.

7 years and under
Winner: Olive Turner
8-11 years
Winner: Emily Hill
Runners up: Voirrey Baker and Laura Peet
12-16 years
Winner: Catherine Brown
Runners up: Robert Yates and JJ Fox
Adult (17 years+)
Winner: Suzan Lindsay Randle
Runners up: Jan Halstead and Gillian Lowe
