Really getting serious
If you've done all these things and really want to push the boat out there are other actions you could take.
Buy a highly energy efficient condensing boiler when you next replace your central heating boiler. For further information on these, visit the Energy Saving Trust website (opens in a new window)
Join a local group which is working to spread the word about climate change or work with the community to develop carbon-neutral or carbon-zero options for the future. Community projects are already set up in communities throughout Derbyshire. Visit the communities section for ideas about what's already going on, and what you could do in your community.
Install a renewable energy facility on your building. There are a number of options including installing a solar hot water system if you have a hot water tank; a ground source heat pump which could provide your background heating. Solar electric panels and small wind turbines are also an option.
