Climate change is one of the biggest challenges we face today.
There in an increasing need for governments, organisations, businesses and individuals to understand and help tackle the issue.
The Nottingham Declaration
Derbyshire County Council is a signatory to The Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change.
This commits the council to take action to reduce its carbon emissions and to support Derbyshire communities to address the causes of climate change, and become more resilient to its likely impacts.

The Climate Change Act
On the 26 November 2008, UK Parliament passed The Climate Change Act, the world's first legally binding framework to tackle climate change.
This commits the UK to reduce its carbon emissions by 80 per cent by 2050, against a 1990 baseline.

Everybody's Talking About Climate Change
Everybody's Talking About Climate Change is a Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire-wide climate change awareness raising campaign aimed at all 2 million people within the two counties. All county, city and district councils in the two counties, together with the Peak District National Park Authority are involved in this work.
