Annual Environment Report for 2004-2005

The county council carries out a huge amount of environmental work every year.  This report gives a sample of the projects and initiatives which were carried out during the year.  It also lists contacts for particular initiatives and has a more general contact section at the end of the document.  It covers information on:

  • transport
  • waste and recycling
  • improving our buildings
  • healthy lifestyles
  • young people and the environment
  • preserving our natural and built environment
  • awards and grants
  • safer environment
  • contacts and useful numbers      

Some of the flagship projects which were reported on include: the Markham Vale regeneration project; b_line and goldcard; the Loscoe recycling centre; the Fairtrade initiative; Eco-schools; access to the countryside; environmental grants and awards; road safety and the electric blanket safety check.
