The promotional week (co-ordinated by the national Real Nappy Campaign) will be concentrating on how parents can help to combat climate change by using Real Nappies.

A number of Nappuccino events are taking place during this week. They are:

  • Wednesday 23 April 2008, 11.30am to 2pm at Queen's Leisure Centre, Derby.

  • Friday 25 April 2008, 10.30am to 1pm at Chesterfield Library, Chesterfield.

  • Saturday 26 April 2008, 10.30am - 12.30pm at Buxton Swimming Pool, Buxton.

The full details can be found on the nappucino events page.

The key focus this year is on how Real Nappies can help combat Climate Change. The great benefit of using real nappies is that you have greater control over their climate impact than with disposables.

By following these simple tips real nappies can be even greener:

  • Use A rated appliances
  • Wash nappies at 60°C in a full load
  • Wet nappies and wraps can be washed at 40°C with other laundry
  • Store used nappies in a dry lidded bucket – don’t soak
  • Use an eco washing detergent and don’t use fabric softener
  • Air dry rather than tumble dry
  • Use washable liners (fleece or silk)
  • Avoid PVC, try and use organic or unbleached products
  • Never iron nappies or wraps
  • Pass your nappies on when you have finished with them, or buy second hand items.
