Abandoned vehicles can cause a public nuisance, are an eyesore and can be a danger to other road users - find out who to report abandoned vehicles to on this page.
If you have spotted an abandoned vehicle please report it to the district/borough council who cover the area where it is.
The costs of removal, storage and final disposal are shared between the district/borough council and us. You can find the contact details for district councils in Derbyshire by following this link.
The vehicle will be removed if it is causing a public nuisance, is untaxed or if it has not been removed by the owner after a notice of removal has been placed on the vehicle.
The owner has a certain amount of time to remove the vehicle once the notice has been given.
Untaxed vehicles on the public highway can also be reported to the DVLA (opens in a new window) online.
