The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how we propose to involve the community in the preparation of new planning documents for the Minerals and Waste Development Framework and also in the determination of planning applications for which the county council is responsible.
The SCI was submitted to the Secretary of State for public examination in April 2006.
Representations received to the document were considered by a Planning Inspector in September 2006. He published his report in October 2006. He concluded that the statement was sound, provided that a small number of mainly minor wording changes were made. These have been incorporated into the final document, which was formally adopted by the council on 13 December 2006.
The adopted SCI and the Inspector's Report can be viewed and downloaded from the more information section of this page.
All development plan documents that the council subsequently prepares and planning applications it determines, will have to be in accordance with the procedures set out in the SCI.
