Travellers sites

There are four sites for Travellers, two of which are in the south and two in the north of Derbyshire.

We work with representative traveller organisations to ensure that the sites run well and to minimise problems presented by unauthorised camping. The four sites are as follows:

Foston, near Sudbury
A long-stay site for 16 trailers, owned by Derbyshire County Council and managed by South Derbyshire District Council.

For enquiries please contact the Housing Department on 01283 221000

Lullington Crossroads, near Swadlincote
A short-stay site for eight trailers, owned by Derbyshire County Council and managed by South Derbyshire District Council.

For enquiries please contact the Environmental Health Directorate on 01283 221000

Corbriggs, Winsick, near Chesterfield
A long-stay site for 16 trailers, owned by Derbyshire County Council and leased to Derbyshire Gypsy Liaison Group.

For enquiries please contact 01629 583300

Blackridge, Pleasley
A privately-owned short-stay site for 20 trailers.

For enquiries please contact the onsite warden.

Where unauthorised camps are set up, it is the responsibility of the landowner in question to seek their removal.
