Travellers sites

There are four sites for Travellers in Derbyshire.


We work with representative traveller organisations to ensure that the sites run well and to minimise problems presented by unauthorised camping. The four sites are as follows:

Foston, near Sudbury

A long stay site for 22 trailers and four transit pitches, owned by us and leased to Joe Varey.

Lullington Crossroads, near Swadlincote

A short-stay site for eight trailers, owned by us and managed by South Derbyshire District Council.

A long stay site for 16 trailers and four transit pitches owned by us and leased to Mr Jim Burnside.

A privately-owned short-stay site for 20 trailers.

For enquiries please contact the onsite warden.

Where unauthorised camps are set up, it is the responsibility of the landowner in question to seek their removal.
