Mines and quarries
We are responsible for safety inspections of all disused mine and quarry tips under the Mines and Quarries Tips Act 1969 on a regular basis.Working mines and quarries are inspected by the Health and Safety Executive.
We also maintain a register of non-coal shafts in the county.
