Conservation Area Grant Schemes

We provide financial and technical support to a variety of conservation-led regeneration schemes in areas of need across the county.

We usually work in partnership with a lead funding agency and the relevant district council, to promote inward investment from the private sector.

Derwent Valley Partnership Scheme in Conservation Areas (PSiCA)

This is a partnership scheme between Derbyshire County Council, English Heritage, Amber Valley Borough Council and Derbyshire Dales District Council to target funds for the preservation, enhancement and regeneration within two of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site’s historic settlements – Belper and Milford (Bridge Street and Chapel Street) and Cromford.

Funds are targeted towards identified priority buildings within the following types of projects:

  • Appropriate repair and restoration schemes for buildings at risk of continuing serious disrepair.

  • Appropriate repair and restoration schemes on historic buildings, with particular emphasis on commercial properties and historic residential properties.

  • Visible repair and restoration work which would enhance the street scene, such as shop fronts and joinery details.

  • Small scale public realm enhancements.
