Children's Training Team (Social Care)

Our focus is to provide training and development opportunities including Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Board training for all people who work with or offer services to children and younger adults.

We aim to increase the skills and knowledge required by workers to provide high-quality services. Based at Denby Depot, the team has trainers experienced in social care and safeguarding.

The courses are free for delegates working or volunteering in Derbyshire and can be accessed by all practitioners working with children and younger adults. There are a few courses which are for specific groups only − please read the 'target audience' section in the course descriptions carefully to make sure the course is suitable for you.

To apply for courses offered by the children's social care training team please complete a T4 application form attached to this page and return it to:

Cancellations

As training is expensive and places are limited it is important that you notify Jackie Mee as soon as possible if you are unable to attend. All managers are notified of non-attendees on the day of training where prior notification has not been received. A cancellation fee will be charged if we do not receive prior notification of your inability to attend a course.

Special requirements

To help you have a good learning experience it's important that you tell us in advance if you have any particular need such as a loop system or support with written material.

Refreshments
