Teaching

We are very fortunate in Derbyshire to live and work in such an attractive part of Britain and we jealously guard our hard-won reputation as an efficient and caring council.

Derbyshire is proud to be among a small number of councils in the country to have been ranked as 'excellent' by the Audit Commission following their comprehensive performance assessment and the LEA received an excellent report from Ofsted.

Our vision is "to improve life for local people by delivering high quality services" and while we all work hard to achieve that aim, it is especially pleasing that our efforts have been independently recognised!

Our task is now to maintain our 'excellent' status and one way of ensuring that is to recruit people as passionate about meeting our aims and objectives as we are.

Derbyshire is an attractive county offering a good quality of life, affordable housing, excellent childcare facilities and a good location close to major cities and road and rail networks.

Whatever you want to achieve in your teaching career, you'll find Derbyshire has a choice to match your personal and professional aspirations.
