Headteachers' Conference 2009

March 2009 saw the fourth annual Derbyshire Headteachers' Conference for Nursery, Infant, Junior and Primary Schools and took place on the 19 and 20 March 2009 at the Palace Hotel, Buxton.

The focus of the conference was Personalised Learning with the following aims:

  • to develop a clearer understanding of personalised learning in practice

  • to help schools to develop a strategic overview of personalised learning in their own contexts

  • to support the implementation of the personalised learning agenda in schools

  • to support schools in engaging wider services to fulfil the personalised learning agenda

The Derbyshire Headteachers' conference is always an opportunity to meet fellow Headteachers from across the county, to share good practice and to inspire dialogue and debate on issues affecting schools, pupils and teachers in a national as well as regional context.

In addition to the networking opportunities, the conference consisted of a number of workshops and keynote speakers. The keynote speakers and workshops allowed colleagues to explore a variety of educational issues with leading experts in their field.
