Come and Teach
You've probably spent a considerable amount of time learning your instrument and performing with others. Why not come and teach in Derbyshire?
Why come to Derbyshire?
Derbyshire is a delightful place in which to live and work, with the largest and most beautiful sections of the Peak District National Park within its boundaries.
The large cities of Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester and Birmingham are within easy reach. Derbyshire is nationally recognised as one of the leading county councils in the country.
What about the Music Service?
In 1999, as a result of the new Music Standards Fund, a joint Music Partnership was established between Derbyshire LA and Derby City LA. Currently, there are over 200 full and part-time teachers working with over 10,000 pupils.
In addition there are music centres in various parts of the county, providing ensemble activities for players and/or singers of all abilities.
How many jobs are available at the moment?
Because of the way the Music Partnership is structured, there is no set staffing limitation.
What can Derbyshire offer you?
As an accredited self-employed instrumental teacher, we are able to give you the opportunity to create a time-table, tailored to your needs.
Derbyshire's Music Partnership invests heavily in continuing professional development, particularly nurturing the teaching skills of those new to the profession.
Where would I be working, given that Derbyshire is a very large county?
At your interview, we can share with you where the current needs are greatest. If you want to know more about this before deciding to come for interview, simply e-mail us, or ring the office.
So what do I do if I want to come and teach in Derbyshire (or at least to find out more)?

And finally − our commitment to you:
