Multi-Agency Support Team
Our team works countywide to support and reintegrate children and young people who have been permanently excluded from school. We work to secure full time educational provision as soon as possible following the exclusion.Who do we work with?
We work with children and young people of compulsory school age, up to the end of key stage 3 (end of year 9).
We work with children, young people and their families, as soon as we receive official notification that they have been permanently excluded from school.
How does the Multi-Agency Support Team work with the child or young person?
- The Family Support Manager can visit you to talk about the exclusion and about your child
- The Integration Teacher can talk to you about the educational options that are available for your child and plan with you and other professionals what the next steps will be
- The school nurse can discuss with you any concerns you may have about your child's health
- The Educational Psychologist can discuss with you any special need your child may have and work with you and other professionals to support them
- The Integration Support Assistant can be with your child in their new school for a short time to support them and help them to settle in
What will happen then?
We will continue to monitor and support your child in their new school until we feel that they are established.
How can I contact the Multi-Agency Support Team?
If your child has been permanently excluded from school, you can contact the Student Services Department of your local Area Education Office, who will put you in touch with the people who can help you.
