You can make a late application through our late online admissions system (opens in a new window) which is now open and is available up to 8 February 2013. Applications after this time should be made using the in-year application facility in the changing schools section.

Please remember…
Parents have a legal right to express a preference for which school they want their child to attend.
This is not the same as being able to choose, but means that if a parent expresses a preference for a particular school and there are places available then a place should be offered at that school.
However, in law there is no automatic right to place a child in any particular school and it may not be possible to offer a place at a preferred school.
When applying for a secondary school place you must apply through the council covering the area in which you live, which may not be the same as where the school is.
If you don't live in Derbyshire search the DirectGov local council directory (opens in a new window) to find your 'home' council.
Getting your offer
We will let you know which school your child is being offered a place at on 1 March 2013.
If you applied online you will be able to log back on to our application system and see the result (opens in a new window). You will also receive an email about your place.
If you don't have an email address your offer will be posted second class on 1 March 2013.
Appeals
If you are unable to obtain a place for your child in the school you wanted you can appeal against the decision.
Your appeal will be heard by an appeal panel independent of the school and the council.
Guidance on appeals can be found in the related documents section and this should be read before you use our online appeals system or complete the form.
Applying for a secondary school place at other times
You may want to apply for a place at a secondary school for your child at other times, for example if you have recently moved.
