Determination of schools' admission arrangements 2014/15
The admission arrangements for maintained schools in Derbyshire have been determined for the 2014/15 school year.
Admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools 2014/15
There are minor changes to the definition of residency as used in the application of the admissions criteria.
There are minor changes to clarify the use of footpaths in the calculation of home to school distances.
There are minor changes to clarify the ways in which preferences will be handled when requests are received from people with parental responsibility who do not agree about the preferred schools for their child.

Parklands Infant and Harrington Junior schools
The oversubscription criteria for Parklands Infant School and Harrington Junior School have changed to extend the sibling link across both schools. The revised oversubscription criteria for these schools are attached to this page.
Changes to published admission numbers (PANs)
- Leys Junior School - increase from 37 to 45
- Scarcliffe Primary School - increase from 10 to 12
- Langley Mill Infant School - increase from 40 to 42
- Duffield Meadows Primary School - increase from 40 to 45
- Church Gresley Infant School - increase from 80 to 90
- Killamarsh Infant School - decrease from 80 to 60
- Rosliston Primary - increase from 12 to 14
- Cotmanhay Infant School decrease from 90 to 80
- Unstone St Mary's Infant School - increase from 15 to 19
- Stanley Common CE Primary School - increase from 10 to 12
- Ashbrook Junior School - decrease from 74 to 50
- Sharley Park Primary School - increase from 50 to 60
- Risley Lower Grammar CE Primary - increase from 15 to 19
- Marsh Lane Primary School - increase from 16 to 20
- Hollingwood Primary School increase from 36 to 38
The only school where the PAN is less than the Indicated Admission Number (IAN) is now Spire Junior School. The Published Number is 50 while the IAN is 51.
In other respects the admission arrangements for community and controlled schools are unchanged from those published for 2013/14. These can be viewed in the relevant (2013/14 Admission Arrangements) section of the Derbyshire County Council website.

Objections

Objections must include the name and address of the person or body making the objection.

Objections that may not be referred to the adjudicator
a) an objection which in substance seeks an alteration to admission arrangements for a grammar school, which by virtue of section 104(4) may only be made in accordance with sections 105 ( c )to 109 (d) (altering the school's admission arrangements so that it no longer has selective admission arrangements)
b) an objection which in substance seeks an alteration to admission arrangements for a selective academy so as to remove selection, which by virtue of its academy; arrangements may only be made in accordance with those academy arrangements
c) an objection that the admission number has not been changed or has been increased for
(i) any school whose admission authority are not the local authority, or
(ii) an academy
d) an objection in respect of an increase or no change to the admission number for a community or voluntary controlled school other than an objection by the governing body of that school
e) an objection to an agreement that the admission arrangements for an academy may vary from the School Admissions Code.
Where the adjudicator has determined an objection to the admission arrangements of a school or academy, no objection may be referred to the adjudicator raising the same or substantially the same issues in relation to those admission arrangements within two years of the decision by the adjudicator.
