Transferring to secondary school is an important milestone in every child's life. As a parent you have a crucial role to play in helping your child take this important step on their educational journey.

You will no doubt have begun to think about the school you would like your son or daughter to attend. This guide is designed to help you through the process of your child's transfer to secondary school.

You can apply for a school place online at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/admissions (opens in a new window) where you will also find further details of this very easy way to apply for a secondary school place.

You can also apply by telephone. Just ring Call Derbyshire on 08 456 058 058. You can also apply using the paper application form included in the admissions pack.

We are keen to work with you to make sure that starting school is a positive experience for your son or daughter and to help them achieve their full potential in a safe and caring environment.
