We carry out statutory action regarding unsatisfactory school attendance matters at the request of schools and academies. This includes issuing penalty notices and undertaking prosecutions in relation to unsatisfactory school attendance, timekeeping and unauthorised leave of absence during term-time.
We have a statutory duty to monitor and track children missing from education and those children at risk of missing out on their education.
We also carry out statutory functions in the areas of children in part-time employment and the licencing of children in entertainment, modelling and paid sporting activities.
