Childcare services

Looking for childcare?

Details of childminders, day nurseries, out of school care, holiday care or pre-school playgroups near you can be viewed on the Family Information directory (opens in a new window).

This will also include details of services offered in and around children’s centres and schools.

Alternatively you can contact Call Derbyshire on tel: 08 456 058 058 or email contact.centre@derbyshire.gov.uk.

Not sure about early learning or childcare choices?

The essential guide booklets in the information on other websites section can help you decide what type of childcare would best suit you and your family, alternatively you can speak to a Families Information Service advisor - contact us on 01629 535793 or email us at info.fis@derbyshire.gov.uk.

Also see our 'Looking for Childcare - Hints and Tips' guide in the related documents section.

What if my child has a disability or special educational needs (SEN)?

All services now have a legal duty to consider how best to offer support to meet a child’s needs.

Local authorities and most day nurseries and pre-schools have a SEN co-ordinator who will be able to discuss your child’s needs and how to make sure your child can enjoy all the activities on offer.
