Pilot project
We believe that the sooner children get access to early years' education and care the better their chances in life will be. That's why we've agreed to pilot a project that will give free education and care for two year olds who are:
looked after children
children in need
children who have additional needs or disabilities.
To take part a child will have to be referred by a social worker, children's centre manager or a professional person working at one of our partner agencies, such as health trusts. Pre-school playgroups, private day nurseries and accredited childminders can provide up to 12.5 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year.
