Bradwell Pre-School Group
Bradwell Pre-School, based in the heart of the village of Bradwell in the Hope Valley, prides itself on the quality of care and nurture it gives to all children who attend. It is a small pre-school which allows staff to know each child individually and tailor their education through play effectively. The last Ofsted, rated 'Good' stated, Children make very good progress in their learning and development because staff provide consistently good teaching. Children and their parents are offered a service that values diversity and promotes equality at all times." The Pre-School is open for 21 hours a week and this includes two full days on a Monday and Tuesday. These sessions can be split into two allowing for flexibility for either morning of afternoon slots. Wednesday to Friday are mornings only, 9am till 12pm. The Pre-School itself is situated within Bradwell Infant School and this proves an invaluable position when children begin the transition from pre-school to Reception class. Children are already comfortable with the layout of the school, the staff and the pupils so the transition is seamless. The children already feel part of the community of the school and the wider community of the village. Many activities are designed to link with other community groups and organisations, to give the children a sense of place and belonging. Forest school sessions are run by Hope Construction, visits to the local fire station, events with the schools and the local baby and toddler groups are just some of the ways the Pre-School adds to the life of the community. Bradwell Pre-School, although sited within the Infant School, is committee run. This means a group of volunteers, usually parents of current children, work together to oversee the effective management of the Pre-School as a childcare provider and educator. Regular meetings and communication ensures that all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage are being delivered successfully. The Pre-School works closely with parents to enable their child to learn and develop. The openness and ability to speak to the child's key worker frequently allows this development to happen. Home/pre-school books are also successfully in operation and means parents can communicate to the child's key worker about any small worries or activities the child has been involved in. The key worker can respond and thus the dialogue ensures the child's learning and well being is responded to. We look forward to welcoming all new children and urge prospective parents to contact the Pre-School to book a time to look around and talk to staff.
