Emergency Department - Kings Mill Hospital, Sutton-In-Ashfield

The Department has separate children's and young adults' areas, a seven bed state of the art resuscitation room, a 19 bay trolley area, a 10 room minors area. It has also recently integrated with the out of hours GP service to allow all emergencies to be seen by the most appropriate clinician the first time. The emergency department team compromises consultants, registrars, junior doctors, advanced nurse practitioners, emergency nurse practitioners as well as support and reception staff. It also has a discharge team to assist elderly patients getting home safely. Patients can also be admitted to an observation ward under the care of the emergency department, the emergency admission unit which is closely linked with the emergency department.
