About Agutter, Emma

As the oldest of 4 children myself I have grown up surrounded by children. I also have 4 children of my own. As well as the experience of having our own children we are auntie and uncle to 3 nieces and 4 nephews ranging from 14 years to 4 months. After the birth of my 3rd child in 2008 I took redundancy from Royal Mail, where I had worked in training, in order to spend more time with my children. During the past 7 years I have volunteered at my children's school and currently chair my daughter's PTA. Supporting the school is very important to me as it helps give our children access to good resources and opportunities. Within this time I have also studied Maths with the Open University, initially with the intention of becoming a teacher. However my experience working as a childminder's assistant helped shaped my motivation for becoming a childminder, spending time doing something I love with the added bonus of watching my own children grow up. Ensuring that my children grow up in an environment where they are nurtured, loved and given the correct tools to become confident, polite and independent individuals is my main wish for them as a parent. This same wish is true for any child within my care and all my planned activities will help the children achieve this. My normal daytime routine will incorporate a planned activity both morning and afternoon which will support the EYFS framework as well as time for free play. Any after school care will also benefit from planned activities with every day having a different theme. (Messy Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Wake and Shake Wednesday, Thinking Thursday and Fun Friday).
