Bakewell Pre-School Playgroup
Bakewell Pre and Playgroup is owned and managed by myself, Nicola Channer and my business partner Pam Osborn. Pam is a primary teacher and I am a nursery teacher BA(Hons). As with any early years settings we follow the guidance set down by the government and local education authorities. But what makes us different is us ! We are both with the children full time and have been at Bakewell Pre School Playgroup for nearly 20 years, first as employees and then 3 years ago buying the business. The other member of our team is Sandra a volunteer who is studying for her NVQ 3. The building consists of:- Main hall Cloak room Kitchen Store room Office Toilet We are lucky to offer a large main hall where the children can participate in both adult and child led focus activities, including crafts, role play, construction, language and literacy, maths and much more. Outside consists of three areas in which to play and learn. At the front of the building is a large grassed area where we can erect tents and the gazebo, as we like to bring inside learning outside. It is also a safe area for the children to run and play ball games. At the side of the building is an area of hardstanding where the children can ride bikes and scooters. To the back of the building is the slide, playhouse, sand/water and the mud kitchen. We try to get the children outside every day come rain or shine. Our ethos is very clear we want our children to learn through play, giving them a stimulating, warm, safe nurturing environment to grow and develop.
