Disabled Children's Health Visiting Team
The service supports children birth to five years who have a disability. Support can be offered with − Post diagnosis support and information − Accessing appropriate disability services and benefits − Specialist advice regarding health needs related to the child's disability e.g. sensory issues, learning daily living skills, behaviour management, sleep and toilet training − Specialist resources to support daily living activities e.g. dental health, going out, and attending appointments − Provision of specialist resources to support and enhance understanding e.g. visual routines, first and then charts, visual timers, social stories − Desensitisation programmes e.g. Going to the hairdressers, having nails cut
