Central College Nottingham
Central is a large general Further Education college with 8 main sites across Nottingham. We offer a range of vocational courses across a wide range of academic levels from pre-entry to Higher education. We are a fully inclusive college and we welcome applicants with learning difficulties and disabilities. Central has a large LLDD department called HORIZONS, graded 'Outstanding' by OFSTED in November 2014, based at Stapleford and Beeston which delivers courses for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Central College has been ranked in the top 10% of colleges nationally for student success. We expect to continue this success for our learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities by providing the necessary skills for them to become independent, confident and employable young people. Able to achieve and succeed within life. To support this we have: − Excellent learner support services, recognising learner needs. − Extensive range of differentiated courses from Pre-Entry Level to level 1. − Progression routes and options to gain new experiences. − Dedicated sites with good bus, and for the future, tram routes − Commitment to actively promote Equality of Opportunity for all who work and learn at Central. Deciding what to do when you leave school is always a difficult decision to make and at Central we want to make the process as easy as possible. The College prides itself in being central to the communities in which we serve and our learners and employees are central to what we do. Opportunities are not always forthcoming and available for learners who may need supported learning. Here at Central we make opportunities happen and provide a range of courses and levels to meet the needs of learners with a difficulty and/or disability within Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire.
