About Lawrence, Estelle

My name is Estelle Lawrence, I have recently become an Ofsted registered childminder located in Middlecroft, Staveley. I have a daughter called Sienna who is three and we live together with my husband Richard who works in adult education. I love working with children and encouraging their development. I have created a separate purpose built playroom filled with both educational and fun equipment. Inside there are different areas to encourage varied skills from creative play to numeracy and literacy. The garden is enclosed and a safe environment with toys for all ages. I plan to cover different topics each month such as family, treasure, growing and transport making the children's learning exciting. I live on a quiet cul-de-sac near Speedwell Infants, Staveley Junior School and St Joseph's Primary School. We live close to St Georges play area which has two separate enclosures for different age groups. We also live within walking distance of Poolsbrook County Park, Jolly Pirates Play Centre and Staveley Library. I also have transportation for further excursions and emergencies. I have been working as a teaching assistant for the past 12 years at Acres Hill School in Sheffield, Y1 and Y2 classes. This year I have been working part time in the school nursery unit. Over the fourteen years I have worked at Acres Hill School I have worked with groups of children and individuals needing extra support with literacy, reading and writing. I have also worked with children who have special educational needs and helped them to achieve targets on their individual education plans. I'm a fully qualified Nursery Nurse (NNEB) and I have a Foundation Degree in Early Educare & Childhood obtained in 2005 at Derby University. I also have a Teacher's Assistant qualification, I'm First aid trained and have just completed an introduction to childminding course with Derbyshire County Council. I love working with babies and children and enjoy accepting them into my home, whilst making them feel part of the family.
