Flinders, Cristy Lorraine
I have been a Childminder for over 5 years and my recent Ofsted inspection (September 2015) was graded Good and is available to view online. I am married and a parent to two girls aged 7 and 15 years. I have a Foundation Degree in Children and Young People, aswell as being a qualified NNEB nursery nurse with over 18 years experience of caring for children aged 3 months - 10 years, having previously worked within a Private Day care nursery, whereby i worked with various ages and i also undertook the role of Nursery Manager. This was a very challenging but rewarding role and one which i thoroughly enjoyed. I am committed to providing quality childcare and learning experiences in a safe, secure and stimulating environment. I live in a detached house, with a secure enclosed garden and small separate playroom. All activities, resources and equipment provided is age appropriate, play-based and planned to support your child's individual development and needs. I undertake daily sensory play activities, sharing stories and advocate the resources of natural open ended resources for the children to use to develop their imaginations, creativity and overall development. I provide breakfast, snacks, a home cooked meal at lunchtime and a snack tea for after school, catering for most dietary requirements. I can accommodate children requiring a rest, or nap during the day inline with parental wishes. The children access the local environment on regular outings including the local park, library, music & movement sessions and the Belper Toy Library. We regularly meet with other childminders and their children to enable to children to socialise with others. I use an online package for my business whereby all parents can securely access information about their child on a daily basis via their laptop or smart phone. This includes information about their learning, development, how they are progressing and what they are currently learning about. I am able to detail what they have undertaken in the day, what they have eaten, any medication they have had and upload and share photographs. It is a secure system which is only accessed by a password system and is used for all aspects of my Childminding business including contracts, policies, permissions, invoices, accident forms and newsletters. A demonstration via a test child is available when viewing my setting. I have attended a variety of Derbyshire County Council training courses and online training courses on various subjects to further extend, update and continually renew my professional development. (Please ask to see portfolio and training certificates)
