Brundrit, Heloise Karen
I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder with 13 years of experience and Paediactric First Aid training. My recent OFSTED inspection grading was 'Good' and just short of an outstanding outcome, and due to this as well as my high level of qualification I have subsequently been invited by Derbyshire County Council to apply to join the 'Quality Childcare Scheme'. I have three children of my own, one aged 19 years who is currently studying her A Levels in Warwickshire and two young girls aged 8 and 9. We live in a farmhouse in a small rural hamlet, have a playroom for the children and a well equipped large enclosed garden including a 12ft Trampoline, a large wooden Wendy House, a Slide, a Swing and a rotating See-Saw as well as many other garden toys and games. There is also a park close by, and a beautiful lake where we enjoy well supervised visits to feed the ducks. I aim to provide a loving and caring environment with an emphasis on learning and creative play. I hold the following qualifications: - Introducing Childminding Practice CACHE Level 3 - 12 hours Paediatric First Aid Certificate - Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering - Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Children's Care, Learning and Development - Level 3 Diploma in Childcare. (Please ask to see certificates). I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, and am a member of the National Childminding Association. I also have the opportunity to study European languages and Chinese Mandarin with the children using the BBC Muzzy children's learning programme, which introduces the children to multiple languages in a relaxed and fun way. Older school children who attend my setting have the benefit of being able to do their homework in a quiet environment, or just to rest and have a home cooked meal before going home at the end of a long school day. During school holidays age appropriate activities such as arts, crafts and baking are provided, and reading is also encouraged with a large selection of books available from myself for the children covering a wide range of topics both factual and fictional. Throughout the year we celebrate the various cultural festivals with craft sessions. Other activities include baking, making, song time, puzzles and stories as well as basic geography and learning about the multicultural world that we live in. Please note also that a risk assessment has been carried out by myself on my property to ensure the safety of all of my children, and I have also had an assessment done by the local fire authority. I accept childcare vouchers and provide holiday care. Occasional overnight care provided, please contact Childminder for details. If you need childcare and would like to meet me, please phone me on 01332 865222 to arrange popping over to meet myself and my daughters. We could have for a cup of tea and a chat and I'll see if I can help you.
