Derbyshire Dales Council For Voluntary Services (Cvs)
Our aim is to promote strong, sustainable and healthy communities through voluntary and community action. We provide information, advice, training and support to the voluntary and community sector in the Derbyshire Dales and we represent the voluntary and community sector on strategic bodies, both at a District and County level. We also provide services and run projects that aim to support disadvantaged, vulnerable and marginalised people. We work in the largest and most rural district in Derbyshire, an area which is affected by issues such as lack of affordable housing, poor access to services and an ageing population. Much of our work is aimed at tackling these problems. Many of our Members are voluntary or community groups delivering activities or services that aim to tackle the problems highlighted above. There are so many excellent groups running in the Dales from luncheon clubs to pony trekking for disabled young people; from village centre improvement projects to forest schools and community shops. Our purpose is to support them in their endeavours.
