Amber Valley Council For Voluntary Services (CVS)
Amber Valley CVS is the local organisation for the district's voluntary sector and the main provider of support for local voluntary and community groups. We are a member of NAVCA (the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action) and have over 300 member organisations. Our aims are to support groups and individuals involved in a wide range of activities and initiatives, which will help improve the quality of life for people in our area. Services we currently provide include recruiting volunteers, for a wide and diverse range of activities such as: - Volunteering with younger people - Befriending - Home from Hospital - Conservation work - Supporting older people - Supporting people with learning difficulties - Supporting people with Mental Ill Health We run a varied programme of short courses and training events in areas such as health and safety, fundraising and First Aid. We offer VCI Adult & Childrens Passport training in partnership with DCC. We provide information, advice and support on Funding and Governance issues, Development plans and Policies by individual visits or group events. We work with families and the elderly to improve their quality of life and help them with day to day issues. We work with young people to ensure that their issues and concerns are voiced.
