Bennerley Fields School
Bennerley Fields is an age 2-16 special school, which includes an assessment nursery, for 84 pupils with a range of learning difficulties and diverse needs. The school has specialist status for communication and interaction, which underpins all teaching and learning. The school has classes of between 6 and 9 pupils, typically supported by a Teacher and 2 Teaching Assistants. A speech and language therapist works for the school to support pupils communication needs. We offer up to 77 places for children whose needs can be described as speech, language and communication difficulties; cognition and learning needs; moderate learning difficulties; severe learning difficulties. Children with these learning needs may also have speech, language, communication and interaction needs; autistic spectrum disorder; sensory and/or physical needs; behaviour, emotional and social development needs; visual impairment; hearing impairment; multi-sensory impairment; physical disability or other needs. In Derbyshire all families are entitled to up to 570 hours per year of free 'early education' from the term following your child's third birthday.
