About Batten-Plowright, Sarah Helen

Ours is a lively setting established in August 2007, with lots going on. On the 15th April 2011, regular bookings for the core group of childminding children were terminated so that I could spend more time meeting the needs of my own young family − 10, 8, 5 and 21 month old. I am still available on an occasional, emergency basis for these children. Prior to this there were eighteen regular children on my books and I employed two assistants. In August 2008 I was awarded an Outstanding Grading from OFSTED, in 2010 I gained a Certificate in Early Years Education and I am currently studying for a Foundation Degree in Early Years (please ask to see Ofsted inspection report and qualification certificates). For children under the age of 5, we delivered the EYFS curriculum framework. For children over the age of 5, care was tailored to meet individual needs and interests. We had everyday access to a seven-seater car and visits and outings were a key element of our service. Children benefitted from a custom-designed playroom and large garden. Experience previous to my work as a childminder included setting up our church crèche, leading groups at Sunday School, relief work at our village's playgroup, organising activities at our local Toddler Group and being a Parent Helper at Firfield Primary School. Our approach to childminding was one of respect, fun and seeking opportunities all the time for learning. Please note I am currently taking a break from full-time child-minding and other than emergency occasional childcare for existing child-minded children I will not be taking on any other children for the time being. Please contact me however if your needs are for September 2012 and beyond, when vacancies may be available. (Sarah Batten-Plowright - 01332 873 823)
