Code of behaviour

So that everyone enjoys and benefits from their experiences with us, we ask that you respect and comply with our code of behaviour.


  • Treat all staff volunteers, learners and property with respect.

  • Act in a responsible way to safeguard your own health and safety and that of others, including respect for the rule of law.

  • Respect the different backgrounds, experiences and lifestyles of others.

  • Act in ways which do not discriminate against people of different backgrounds, including the tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

  • Do not use language which could offend others (for example, racist, sexist, homophobic, ageist, or language offensive to people with a disability).

  • Avoid behaviour which could make another person, or group of people, feel vulnerable, uncomfortable or unaccepted, respecting individual liberty and promoting mutual respect.

  • Pay any fees due, and if unable to pay, speak to your tutor or a member of centre staff.

  • As part of your course, you will be expected to produce written work. It is important that you give in your own work and that it is not copied either from someone else or your own previous assignments.

  • Comply with any other our polices. If applicable, these will be displayed in the classroom.

If you feel you've been treated with a lack of respect, been harassed, or discriminated against, contact either your course tutor or ask to see a programme development manager. They'll follow this up with you.

So that we can provide you with the best possible service, tailored to your needs, we ask you to:

  • provide information about yourself at enrolment and tell us if anything changes
  • let us know if you need any support or help with your course
  • agree what you hope to learn and achieve through your course
  • complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and participate in its monitoring
  • attend all sessions on time or let us know if you are going to be absent
  • complete all work set on time, or let you tutor know if you are having problems
  • complete learner evaluations and surveys to help us improve our services to you and other learners.
