We provide a range of programmes to help you to get ready for work. We offer loads of resources that can help build on your strengths, improve your skills and get those qualifications that could make all the difference in you finding your dream job.
Many of these courses are free if you are on Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) or Employment Support Allowance (ESA).
This short course is designed as a first step to help build your confidence, whilst identifying your learning needs in areas such as maths, English, ICT and employment skills. The sessions will include problem solving and group activities, individual assessments and one to one interviews.
Move On Up
This programme will help to prepare you for the world of work and further training, helping you to reach your full potential. The sessions will include: CV Writing, searching and applying for the right jobs, preparing for interviews and action planning for the future.
Work Ready Skills
This intensive course is for you if you are unemployed and actively seeking employment but need to develop, improve or update your skills. You will need to commit to a number of full days study for a 10 week period. You will gain useful job-related qualifications and skills to make you more confident and give you an edge in the job market. Qualifications include ICT, first aid, food safety, English and maths.
Make that Job Match Me
This course will help you to gain the skills needed to get the most out of the Universal Jobmatch website. The course is designed to meet the needs of JobCentre Plus users. You will learn how to register and search the site as well as build your CV, practise interview skills and action plan to achieve your goals.
This online tutor supported course teaches you basic internet skills including email, internet mobile technology and internet safety. It is designed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding of IT users everywhere, giving you a recognised qualification to meet the demands of the modern workplace.
