Getting to us by public transport

Our courses are timed to make getting to the eco centre by public transport as easy and convenient as possible. Check the local bus times, routes and stops that are available through the public transport journey planner or contact Traveline tel: 0871 200 22 33.

If you are a Gold Card holder you can get free travel on buses after 9.30am as well as cheaper course fees.

If public transport isn't for you why not save money and cut carbon emissions by car sharing? Discuss this with the other learners on the first day of your course.

Getting to us by car

Follow the brown tourist road signs to the National Stone Centre, from Wirksworth or Cromford, taking the turning to Middleton at the top of Cromford Hill, along Porter Lane. Turn left off Porter Lane into the National Stone Centre driveway. We are the first building on the right hand side.

Car parking

Parking on the eco centre site itself is reserved for disabled car users only, except after dark. During the day you can park down the left side of the drive way, or in the National Stone Centre car park downhill from the eco centre.

There's a short, surfaced and lit path to the eco centre from the car park. Car parking costs £1 per half day or £1 per day if you come on a course of more than one day in length. This is a donation which helps to maintain the National Stone Centre site.

Arriving on a bike

We have ample covered bicycle parking facilities, a shower and lockers for those who cycle to the centre. We also have an electric charging point for recharging electric bikes.
